Collects books, cats, hangovers, and the odd dragon. Engaged to ajv. :)Long verison: If you can find me underneath my rapidly-expanding collection of books, you'll find a tall, 20-something, redheaded Witch with a pint of cider in one hand, and a tatty spellbook in the other. I spend my time maintaining easy-to-use Web hosting packages for the technologically inept, and occasionally I wear my businesswoman hat for the Internet company which I co-own. Not often, though, because the hat's a little on the tight side and makes me look intelligent. Sometimes it even makes me look like I'm not a geek. I'm also a writer -- genre fiction (sci-fi, fantasy, supernatural) usually, though sometimes I can be caught with both hands wrestling some magical realism out of my word processor, or bleeding a pen for some poetry -- and have a journal all about my writing at heatherkward.I'm also a Reiki Master-Teacher, crystal healer and vibrational essence therapist specialising in the Alaskan and Wild Earth essence systems. My favourite stone is garnet but I confess I'm also a bit of a tourmaline junkie -- especially black tourmaline and tourmalated quartz. I'm always looking to learn more about healing and enjoy sharing and learning with others in a variety of healing methods. The rest of the time, I'm repeatedly dragged into all kinds of trouble by my coven. This usually results in me cleaning up afterward and then having a lie down with a wet towel across my eyes. My personal spiritual practice revolves around my deities, an eclectic combination of an Egyptian Lord and Thracian Lady -- both of whom are connected to the Underworld. As such, I am intensely interested in anything to do with deity worship, tending Their altars and shrines, and honouring Them with each act and every breath. I have three cats, and they're the light of my life. Honest. There's the pedigree Somali girl who loves to lick everything in sight, and there's the biohazard of moggie whose temper occasionally rivals my own. Then there's the new kid on the block -- a Norwegian Forest Cat who outgrew everyone else before he was a year old. For fun, I completed two degrees -- a BA (Hons) in English and an MA in Creative Writing, both from Manchester Metropolitan University. Apparently I was a sucker for punishment -- either that, or I wanted to make sure they remembered me. :p I collect Pocket Dragons, enjoy cross stitch, knitting, horse riding, and cat shows, and I have lots of interests; I also have a tendency to rant on about a lot of things in my LiveJournal. Sometimes I even play nice with the other kiddies. In line with some of my interests, I chose to inflict myself with the task of community owning/moderating -- but, due to changes in my life, have since passed these ( ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} somali_cats and academics_uk) onto some highly capable friends.
